Small increase in cover charge; still an entertaining club

Hustler is a nice club in Washington Park, just east across the river from St Louis. It's about a ten minute drive from downtown STL. Parking is free in a large, well-lit lot (or across the street in another lot if the main one is full). There's a big bar with seats all around, one main elevated stage, and one smaller floor stage with a cage around it. It's in good shape, the bathroom is clean, and the service is generally good. The club is perhaps a bit too bright, and when the DJ is there it gets a bit too loud (though not as bad as some clubs).

There were a couple of new things upon arrival. First, they are now scanning licenses. The attendant gave me a long spiel about how the camera attached to their device was comparing the photo on the license to my face, and that they kept the photo for 90 days "in case of trouble" after which it's deleted. I know for some people, license scanning is a deal breaker, so I thought I'd mention it. In addition, the cover has gone up from $20 to $25. That gets you a wrist band so you can come and go. I did try an afternoon visit for the first time, and cover then was only $10. Bottles of water and soda continue to be $6.

The dancer crew was excellent at night, with most of the dancers the same as my visit a few months ago. They're mostly white, mostly fit, and mostly natural, with a mix of curviness. There were more on Saturday than Thursday, though the latter still had at least a dozen. I stopped by one Wednesday afternoon the place was very quiet, both literally (the music was relatively low) and figuratively, with just a few patrons. The board listed nine or ten dancers, but I only ever saw four. They were noticeably less fit than the dancers working at night, but not unpleasant. The night shift arrives quite late, with many dancers coming in after ten or even eleven.
