Special Event Venue Tonight
The Wednesday night before thanks giving Controversy was hosting a special event sponsored by Belby & Unkle Luke “Pre-Thanksgiving Black Out”. Had not heard of these promoters but after attending an earlier event with some friends decided to stop by around 10:00 PM. Part of the parking lot near the entrance was coned off for VIP’s. so ended up parking a bit further down the lot. As there were a lot of cars there I thought that it be a good night at the club. Walked through the left entrance door and there were about half a dozen ladies around the cashier. I approached the cashier. There were several ladies milling around the area behind the cashier and it seemed they were using the room behind as an overflow dressing room. Paid my $10 entry fee and was waiting for my change. Heard the cashier say they would start charging $20 before midnight and $40 after midnight.
Once given my change I went to the bar. The men’s restroom is on the right as you head into the club and the bar is just the right after the men’s room. Ordered a drink and then noticed that they had rearranged the room a bit to probably account for the special event. The was only one high top table on the main floor. The rest were now up in what is normally the VIP area. They had the two couch areas on the main floor roped off for VIP’s and Reserved signs on them. As I was taking in the sights, there were no dancers on stage. There must have been at least a dozen ladies dressed but they were just milling about and walking back to the main ladies dressing room straight down the hall that runs through the club to a dead end. Finally a dancer went on stage and did a couple of dances. Since she was the first to go up I went to the stage to tip her a couple times as she must have danced five or six songs. Was not sure how this special event was planned out, but wanted to stick around to see what unfolded.
The dancer retreated and no other dancer went on stage for a while. One of the ladies finally stopped by and we started chatting a bit. She said these parties really did not start until about midnight and that was over an hour away. But she was pleasant to talk to and there were only a few guys in the club more dancers were coming in and going back to the dressing rooms. After about another half hour another dancer went on stage. I noticed that she had been talking with a guy standing at the at the bar earlier (as they had removed all of the chairs from around the bar for tonight). He went up the stage and immediately stated tipping her on stage. She danced four of five songs never straying from in front of him the entire time. By now there were a few more customers coming in and getting drinks.
