Fifth review of HQ

SETTING

HQ is in a not-great neighborhood. You’ll have to negotiate some one-way, and not well-lit urban streets to get to Richards. The building is lit in purple. Neon sign doesn’t say “HQ” but says “Exotic dancers.” There is minimal parking in front, but the club entrance (plus more parking) is in back (away from the street).

It’s a nighttime place only. Upon entry, just after the 7:00 opening of the club, I underwent an ID scan and I got wanded for metal in my pockets. $20 was the entry fee.

The interior is spacious and clean with high black ceiling, black walls and mirrors on the walls.

Music varied from urban to country and was at a reasonable volume, allowing conversation. Lighting level was moderate-to-dark.
