As Expected

I visited Tropical Lei in Upland, California on Thursday afternoon Sep 28, 2023 from about 2:30 to 3:45 pm. They open at 1:00 pm. The club is on Foothill Blvd (the historic Route 66) about halfway between Monte Vista and Mountain. I have read a lot here about this club and was curious to visit. It is too far from where I live to just make a day trip but I was driving back from a longer trip and passing reasonably near Upland so took advantage of the opportunity. There are fairly small free parking lots in front of the club and an overflow area to the right. Entrance is at center of long side of a rectangular space. Cover was $20 with one non-alcoholic drink required. No ID or security stuff. Was told to go outside if I wanted to use my phone.

Entering the main room the club is quite dark. Opposite the entrance is the bar where I ordered a generic bottled water for $6. The stage juts out from the near wall to the right of the entrance. It has about 15 chairs at the rail. The rail is at normal height but the stage within the rail is lower than the rail. Not much scope for the pole as the ceiling is quite low. Small tables and chairs both to the left and right of the stage. The rest room is in the wall opposite the stage and is quite small, just one of each of the fixtures and despite the fact it’s really just a one person at a time room the door does not lock. There are couches along the wall, low ones in the center of the room and high ones to the right of the stage. The decor of the room strikes one as rather old, although some of the rotating lights appear somewhat newer.

There were half a dozen customers or so and about an equal number of dancers. Dancers were mostly a mixture of white and Latina and of average looks and tending toward the older side. Stage dances were nude but sometimes the bottom didn’t come off if no one was tipping. After sitting down I was approached by a white, blond, older, 30’s for sure, woman. We talked for awhile and were quickly approached by the waitress asking if I wanted to buy the lady a drink, which I declined. She brought up prices for dances including $40 per song for nude on the couches in the main room. I understand it’s less for topless although this was not mentioned. While I was there no one did dances on the open couches. She also quickly brought up the availability of extras, quoting $200 all in, and hinting maybe even some reduction in this price.
