Another Saturday Night and I Do Got Some Money, Just No Dancers That I Wanna Pay
With apologies to Cat Stevens.
Had an opportunity to try BSC later in the evening (for me) and on a Saturday night. Wanted to see what I would find in terms of new dancers I don't normally see there. Arrived at 9 PM, pulled into the newly re-paved and re-striped parking lot. More cars than usual but hardly a crowded lot. Cover charge was $10, hand the receipt to the doorman and in you go. Main bar is to the right, three stages, but only Stage 1, the main (center) stage, is in use. Found a seat along the back row of tables, sat and ordered a Coke from the waitress ($6 plus tip).
Happily, the USC-Stanford game was on one of the main TVs along the far wall, so I settled in to check out the game and also the dancers. Sadly, the game was much better than the overall quality of ladies. While USC was blowing the doors off the Cardinal, the dancers, to quote Shania Twain, "did not impress me much." While BSC has a reputation as a "7 Up" club, there are far more 4-6s than 7-plusses working this night. I was approached regularly for dances, especially as the crowd ebbed and flowed, but none caught my eye to take to VIP for a $20 dance. I stayed through an entire shift, which took an astounding 1 hour and 40 minutes before the DJ started repeating the names of the dancers who went onstage when I arrived, so there were a lot of dancers doing a 1-song rotation (until eventually, Stage 3 by the bar opened up). I left having spent a grand total of $17, easily my lowest sum spent this year.
