Club Rouge: External factors make this club a concern

Club Rouge is a corporate club these days, which is fine I guess. They want to be upscale and at least semi-classy. They had a $5 cover charge the evening I went there, and they checked my ID. There were a good mix of attractive dancers and they generally get fully nude during the second song of their stage set. Alcohol choices are fine, though I'm not there for the drinks!

CR isn't cheap, with fairly typical 3/$100 dances, and higher for VIP upstairs. They also have a single place to pay for VIP and dances, which meant standing around in a line and also patrons were asked to cover room fees, and such. That wasn't awesome. Two stages, though for most of the night only one was used. There are also small stages along the side where under-21 dancers stay (and others occasionally).

My problem with the club is downtown. The area is the epicenter of drug traffic, and there are dealers and users wandering about, and the area is frankly pretty dangerous after dark. That's not something the club can control, but it is certainly deterring me from going back any time soon. For the time being, as a consequence of the downtown area, I would exercise real caution about going to this club, particularly alone and if you will be at all intoxicated.
