They're Going for Your Gold at Gold Club.
First time at Gold Club. Went on 4th of July night about 9:30. Went in with low expectations but still walked away disappointed. The Gold Club wants all of your gold, plain and simple. Cover at the door was $25 paid to a friendly gal...friendliest person in the joint. The little lobby has no obvious path to enter thru and I had to ask where do I go next. Inside there were 3 or 4 other single customers and a ton of reserved signs on every table. I just grabbed a seat in the middle of the room and the manager approached to ask if I wanted a cocktail waitress. I don't think there is an option on that, but I politely said yes. But the interaction seemed strange. And at higher end clubs like this, managers meet you at the entry, butter you up and show you to a table.
Waitress comes shortly thereafter and acted like I had just ripped a killer fart in the room. No hello...no Happy 4th of July. A look of disgust on her face. There were so few people in the club, she couldn't have been overworked. I order the house wine...it's $16 and I give her a $20. She takes it, turns and walks away never to be seen again...which actually was okay because that chardonnay tasted like licking a tub of margarine.
Then the dancer at the bottom of the club totem pole comes to my table. This was the exact interaction.
