I went to Satin Dolls on a Saturday night around 19:15. The building was clearly not built to be a strip club, but rather a small warehouse. There were only six parking spaces in the tiny parking lot in front of the building. When you enter, there is a vestibule with couches and a small boutique of dancer clothing. The first room you come to has couches, two pool tables, and a juice bar on the right. I paid an $8 cover charge to the bartender and was given a wristband for in-and-out access the rest of the night. Red Bulls and sodas (Dr. Pepper and Coca-Cola in 16.9 ounce bottles) were $4. A bottle of water was $2. There were also bags of chips and candy bars for $2. If you want alcohol, there is a dive bar called 44 Club next door. A lot of patrons would go back and forth between the bar and the strip club. The ATM has a maximum withdrawal of $100 and charges a $5.25 fee.

The back room is where the actual dancing and private dances take place. There is a large granite peninsula stage that comes off of the right wall. The stripper pole looked to be about twenty-five feet tall, which would make it the tallest spinning pole in the Gem State. There are also two small triangular side stages on the walls, but they were not used. The DJ is in a crows nest to the right of the stage and watches the customers like a hawk. When I first came in, I thought I could tip dancers in their g-strings. He shouted at me before I could complete the process. You have to toss your dollars onto the stage. You cannot touch the dancers. Earlier in the night, before the club got bumpin' bumpin', dancers would hop off the stage and give customers a ten to fifteen second lap dance. This became less common as the facility got busier. Dancers did three song sets on stage. Dancers have to take their top off at the end of the first song. By 22:00 or so, all seats at the stage were occupied and dancers were making $100 to $250 per stage set.

On Friday and Saturday nights, private dances are one for $25, two for $50, and five for $100. There is a sixty minute VIP room for $200. The VIP room is in an area to the right of the DJ booth and has its own pole. On Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, private dances are a little more affordable: one for $25, three for $50, and six for $100. The club taxes the dancers twenty percent of their private dance revenue. The dancers only keep eighty percent of what customers pay for the private dances. The private dances are in small rooms with a couch and black curtain covering the doorway. There are cameras. I did five songs with Amari. She did a fine job grinding and was eager to please. She used the wall of the booth to do headstands in my crotch. Private dance contact is mostly one-way. Customers can touch the dancer’s legs and sides, but they cannot touch anywhere near the dancer's boobs or ass.
