Commotions is in LaGrange about halfway between Atlanta and Columbus, off the I-85/185 spur, but it’s on the other side of town, a good 15 or 20 minute drive off the highway. This is definitely rural Georgia. Have you ever seen the movie Deliverance?

The parking lot looks like a moonscape, except the moon doesn’t have grass growing on it, like this parking lot does. When I arrived about 8:30 PM there were maybe a dozen cars in the parking lot, mostly older model pickup trucks. There were a couple of guys hanging around outside by one of the cars, with drinks sitting on the hood of the car. They looked like . . . well, again, have you seen the movie Deliverance?

The building looks rundown. There was a counter just inside the door, but no one behind it. I waited for a minute or two, looked around, didn’t see anyone that looked like a doorman, and went on in. About 20 feet in, I was stopped by a big, husky dude who got up from the bar asked for a $5 dollar cover.
