Time to lower my expectations

Used to visit this club regularly. Live out of state now but still try to stop by whenever I am in the area and have time. I have some fond memories dating back over a decade. Was able to stop by on a Thursday late afternoon/early evening. Parking lot was pretty empty. Paid an $8 cover. Its a small club. Stage and bar on opposite sides with tables and booths in the middle. VIP area is up front as you enter. There were less then 10 customers. I sat at the bar and ordered a $4 beer. Staff was friendly and attractive. Just a bartender and one waitress when I arrived. Actually wished they were dancers. Both were friendly and attractive. Laid back vibes as always.

It was about 20 minutes before I saw any dancer at all. In the couple hours I was there I saw 3 total and they each only "danced" once. Not much enthusiasm at all. Just kind walked around the stage for a couple songs and took their top off for the third. All 3 were white and fairly young (mid 20s to early 30s). One curvier redhead and a couple brunettes average build. Redhead was the first to dance. When she was done she came back out in what looked like street clothes and sat with some customers at the end of the bar. It looked like she was clocked out for the night.

Only one that interested me was the second brunette to come on stage. Actually had some blue and purple dyed in as well. Nice body. Not skinny, but in shape. Tipped her on stage. Asked to visit when she was done with her set. She said she would but disappeared for at least 15 minutes after she was done. As I was getting ready to leave she finally showed up. Sat and talked with her for just a few minutes. She seemed rushed. Asked right away if I wanted fun in the VIP. $25 fee and then $100 for 4 songs. Extras were implied. But didn't trust her. Said she had a menu we could discuss once we are back there. I definitely didn't like the feel of the conversation. And felt like extras just meant extra money for her. Too rushed and too vague. And when she said she needed to be paid up front it sealed the deal. I declined and headed out.
