Early afternoon at the Doll House - joint was not exactly jumpin’

I going to start this review with a little background to explain why I visited Doll House when I did. I was on the road to visit friends - not the dugan in this case - and really didn’t have a ton of time before I had to get back on the road. Also, I didn’t want to drink given the fact that I would be back on the road. I know… not a very rickish thing to do.

Anyway, I arrived in Jacksonville a bit before noon which I felt was too early to hit a strip club (although google said this club opened at noon). So I pulled off I-95 for lunch and to wait until a time that seemed reasonable. I decided that a bit after 1pm would be reasonable, given other time constraints. So I took a fairly leisurely lunch and headed back to Philips Hwy and on to the Doll House.

There were a few cars in the parking lot so I thought it might not be too bad - I didn’t want to be the sole customer! Went in and there was no doorman. Very dark so my eyes took a bit to adjust after coming in from the Florida sunshine. Dancer sitting against the wall motioned me over and told me to go to the bar in broken English (I assume dancer was Cuban based on accent. I did so and asked the bartender if there was a cover and also asked how many girls were working. He asked for $10 for cover and a drink. No liquor served, which was fine with me on this visit. Told me that several girls were doing private dances and one or two were in dressing room.
