Just Came Here to Get This Off My Chest
BLUF: Was at Delilah's for a full half hour at 8 pm on a Tuesday evening and no dancer took the stage. None working the floor either. There were two engrossed in conversations with presumed regulars. That's it.
Philadelphia SC habitues would probably agree that the top three mainstream clubs (I'm excluding "niche" clubs like PO) are Delilah's, Risque Philadlelphia and Cheerleaders (Oasis is an up and comer, but that's a subject of a different review), and everybody would likely rank those three differently. Delilah's has the most impressive physical layout IMO. Very large, well-appointed bar/stage area, definitely tthe largest in Phila, and the largest I've seen in the Midlantic/New England area (I don't get to the Manhattan clubs. Long stage with at least two poles, extending from a dramatic staircase at the end closest to the bar entrance to a catwalk that extends into the circular bar at the far end. There's a second small bar at the opposite end of the stage towards the entrance. Stage side seating along both sides of the stage, with a couple rows or two-seat cocktail tables behind, and elevated booths behind that.
When there are dancers present, the descend that staircase from the second floor and do two songs. The upstairs also houses the VIP area, which are decent-sized cubicles with full walls on each side and a beaded curtain in front. Privacy isn't an issue. Been a while since I've done VIP there but I think it runs around $170 to house for half hour, pls whatever you work out with the dancer. Some will give ridiculously high quotes, with no implication that extras are included or available. YMMV, of course, but nail down expectations up front. a lot of the dancers just don't do extras at all
