Friday night

I was tired of how much dances are now at Ricks so I decided to make my first visit to Teasers in about six months. Teasers can be hard to find since GPS isn’t accurate but if you stay on Hwy 98/Holloway St it will take you right by the club even if the street name changes.

First problem was parking as it was a Friday night and was a show at the nearby DPAC. It was around 8:30 and all the street parking was taken and was attendance in the lot in front of the club with a sign saying $7 to park. I hate to pay to park so I circled back and finally parked a few blocks away near the Armory. Probably was about a ten minute walk but it was a nice night and I probably needed the exercise. While not an issue for me the club isn’t handicap accessible as would go down stairs to enter the club. Also the VIP dances are upstairs so that would also be an issue.

Had a strange encounter at the front desk as an older gentleman was taking cover. I believe it was Jim the owner but I could be wrong. He asks for my ID looks at it and says it doesn’t look like me. The picture is older as you can renew your license in NC online so my picture is I guess over 10 years old. He kept it in his hand for maybe 15 or so seconds and I started to think he wasn’t going to let me in. I’m over 50 so it’s not like I’m underage very odd situation. The cover was $12 and I believe that’s the normal cover for everybody now as NC did away with the membership requirement for clubs that have a certain percentage of alcohol sales.
