A diva with benefits
In any other neighborhood, Centerfolds would be the neighborhood dive. Last time I was there, they had a Hell's Angels poster on the door to prove it. It still loses the title because Lamplighter, which is about 500 feet down the road, might be the diviest club in Massachusetts. The most pretentious thing about the club is the sign on the door asking you to pay $20 to get in (after 7:00 PM -- $5 before).
The club is readily visible from US 20, and had a nearly full parking lot, unusual for a midweek afternoon. I generally think floor plans are superfluous in club reviews, but at Centerfolds you kind of need one, because when you go from outdoor sunlight to near total darkness, you'll be nearly blind for a minute or two.
If you walk straight in from the front door, you'll crash into the stage that takes up most of the room. Around the stage are 19 empty chairs. (The other one has some fat old guy in it. That would be me.) There's a bar on the right (more fat old guys). Front and back walls have benches shared by more customers and dancers. On my visit there were about ten of these dancers, of varying shapes and ethnicities: with about equal numbers of white, black, and Latina.
