If this is the best of the OC, then pass
Arrived on Tax Day to take advantage of the $90 VIP (15 mins) and free admission. They did not give me free admission because they said I needed proof of filing. My friend and I showed them our signature authorization page from our accountants, but apparently that doesn't count. We placed pretty high in a poker tournament earlier that morning, so I didn't mind paying the fee.
Imperial is kind of hard to find without GPS. It's sort of tucked away, at night, the sign makes it easier, but the road to the place sort of looks like a long parking lot. The area looks totally safe and there is some sort of fast food drive through next to the lot. There is also a security guard sitting sort of at the end of the lot, but I don't think he's watching the Imperial lot directly.
Like all the clubs I visited, this club is small. It's upstairs and dark as fuck. The lighting is red and maybe the DJ has some control over it, but exerted almost none while we were there. Immediately to the right is a stage not used, along the opposite wall is the main bar which sits like 4 people, and across from the unused stage is the main bar (both stages are identical). There's maybe 30 tables (my memory says 30, but as I picture it, it has to be like 12), seating 2-4 people. To the left of the main stage is the DJ booth.
