Returned to Club B after a ~7 month hiatus...

Stopped by Club B near Sun Prairie/DeForest area while I was in the Madison area for a few days. I typically swing by here when I'm in the area every 2-4 months. This time around it's been about 6-7 months since my last visit, so longer than normal. I actually stopped by 3-4 times during the week on different days between Monday-Thursday, usually evenings (about 7pm) but also 1-2 times with a slightly earlier arrival time. So, this review is a consolidation of the various visits.

First, the basics - there's typically no cover charge if you arrive before 7pm or so, it's about a $7-$8 cover otherwise. They have started scanning ID's as well fairly consistently; not a problem for me but I can understand why some people may be creeped out by that practice. The place has a metal detector too - again - not a problem for me, figure it helps keep the environment safer than it could be otherwise. One potential down side - Club B closes at about midnight most nights. They may be open slightly later on Fridays/Saturdays but I believe the locality forces them to close close to midnight due to prior incidents with customers and/or former staff. [Gee, occasional conflicts may occur when you throw alcohol and horny adults competing for attention and/or $, in close proximity to each other?! Who would've imagined?! ;-)]

As others have mentioned, Club B has a "smaller dive bar-that-just-happens-to-have-strippers" vibe. Honestly, that's a lot of the reason why I like it. It's very laid back, chill, affordable, people are friendly, and unpretentious - they usually tend to play pretty decent music, too - a mix of heavy metal, hard rock, some RAP/R&B, etc. Small warning in advance, cellular service in the bar is very poor. You might be lucky if you can get 1 bar from just certain spots in the place, but pretty much assume that your cell phone may not be operable most of the time. There's one main stage area and a smaller, secondary stage to the side that is very rarely used (more often used by dancers who may be stretching or practicing some of their moves). But it is indeed a dive bar; older, kinda run down, there's not even a door on the single men's room toilet stall (!). So if you have to take a dump, you will do so in full view of any other gents who may be in front of the sinks/vanity/bathroom mirror area, etc. I've only once gone into that bathroom and seen someone actually taking a crap in that exposed fashion (thankfully) - AWKWARD! - and of course, it just so happened to be this particular week SMH/FML. I did my best to avert my eyes and I got out of there as quickly as I could. Poor guy. I would've just waited and gone like at the KwikTrip gas station down the road, but in fairness, it is several minutes away - so... but, I digress...
