I’d Rather Go to The Public Library on A Saturday Night

Where do I start? Came in this past Saturday evening around 9:30 pm after visiting my friend in San Fernando as I thought I’d kill some time before the long way home on the other side of town. Probably should have kept driving in retrospect, even with the traffic backed up on the freeway. Drove in and was met by a surly and not socially adept door guy who seemed to be a bit annoyed when I walked in and even more so when I asked why the cover charge had increased to ($23.00) - I don’t know kind of seemed like an odd figure to me but no big deal. He took my cover, scanned my id, and off I went inside after he patted me down. I’ve been here before, even though it’s been close to 5 months, and I usually look for Natasha (tall/leggy blonde who resembles Amy Smart from the Crank films) for a great time, but she was nowhere to be found this time around. She’s the best dancer here by a mile in my opinion but may have been in one of the VIP booths (which are hidden by flimsy black curtains). The club was only semi crowded, and on this particular evening, the floor manager was anxiously prancing up and down the door aggressively asking patrons to get VIPs or drinks with the dancers but nobody seemed to bite. At one point he sarcastically got on the mic where the DJ was sitting and loudly proclaimed that any patron who was not getting up to get VIPs should just get up and leave. It was oddly both pathetic and sad at the same time, but it also put the dancers in a rather precarious position as this seemed to only discourage the few guys that were in there to get dances as nobody fell for the hard sale. I even saw a guy walk out about 3 minutes later. Obviously this manager missed the sales 101 seminar. Even the dancers looked embarrassed. That really took the air out of the room and after tipping the thick, buxom brunette dancing on stage I just up and left. What happened to this place? There is an heir of desperation and negativity here that didn’t seem to exist before. I wish I could provide more club details and dancer details but unfortunately I didn’t get that far. Perhaps I’ll return in a few months to see if there is any positive turn around.
