The Cheetah used to be one of my favorite places to visit, mostly for the food and the ambiance. The club was once thought of as a Gentlemen's club, enforcing a dress code (i.e. no hats, sweats, etc) it seems that has changed. What had also changed is the price of dances from $10 to $20 (now air dances cost more, great). I was in town last week and after a visit to Vivid went to the Cheetah for dinner. I went there with one of the dancers I knew from Vivid. I think entrace fee was $12 a piece and we sat at one of the tables in between the 2 long stages by the bar. There was a smaller stage where there once were more tables (this is new, at least to me). The waitress came by to took our order, we ordered food and drinks. Everyone that has eaten at the Cheetah knows that the food is pricey, but good. I immediately noticed more diversity as it related to the dancers. I definitely didn't see anyone that shouldn't have been dancing. We got a couple shots from the shot girl, and to my surprise shots are $20. We tipped one of the girls on stage and she came over once her stage set was over. She offered a little small talk and we then asked her to dance. Well, nothing that varies from the norm to report (air dance, about a foot away). Although she was beautiful to look at, the dance was uninspiring. Paid her $40 for her 2 dances and sent her on her way. After we ate, we left. The Cheetah is still a beautiful club, but no reason for me to frequent. $20 a dance is crazy by Atl standards when all other clubs offers $5 and $10 dances. Seems like the owner/s is/are confused - is this still and Upscale Gentleman's club or not? Prices indicate so, but standards have been compromised.
