Birkie Weekend

I've driven past this gem of a northwoods bar a half dozen times but always missed their Thursday through Saturday hours. Finally made it on a cold February evening.

I arrived at about 7:30 p.m. and there were about 8 cars and 8 snowmobiles parked in the lot. Paid the $5 cover and bought an (I think) $6 Spotted Cow ('sconnie micro-brew.) Maybe 20 customers and five not-unattractive girls-even in the too-bright lighting. Not Vegas, but not bad looking. The knotty pine with fish and deer heads were just right, and the atmosphere was jovial. The old dude next to me was getting a pretty serious looking backrub from one of the dancers. There was a ten-stool bar and fifteen chairs around the stage - that included a handy shelf below stage-level so your beers didn't get knocked over when the dancer came to give you a motorboat.

The lapdance area had four or five customer chairs behind a gauzy curtain. The friendly bouncer could see all four chairs from his perch by the door, so I initially was hands-off, but when I complimented my 20-something dancer's chest she said moved my hands there, and they were marvelous.
