Sunday afternoon and evening assessment

I visit Houston once or twice a year and make it a point to drop in at the Church for a few hours each time. If one word was required to describe St. James it would be "consistency". The policies and procedures have been largely unchanged over the last ten years. The prices have risen less than the recent rate of inflation (private dances are still $20). The food is consistently good and the beer is still cold.

I dropped in on a recent Sunday afternoon and there was a lot of downtime. Dancers were on stage for their 3-song set but there were 1 to 2 song gaps before the next entertainer took to the stage. All told there were only about 5 girls working so I left for a few hours. Don't forget to ask the receptionist at the front for a pass to get back. Having paid the afternoon fee, I avoided the higher evening entrance cost.

I returned around 8:00 and the place was hopping! The number of girls had tripled and the patrons had now filled the tables and both bars. Lot's of 7's to 9's and just one sub-7. As luck would have it, the sub-7 made a bee-line for me. "Sorry, I just arrived" sent her on her way. Over the next 3 hours I had the opportunity for privates with 5 ladies. Huge variety of experiences from extremely sensual & engaged to outright robotic. I found no correlation between ethnicity and my experience. It's hit or miss each time. When you get a "hit" it can be a mesmerizing. Nothing crazy happened but if I think about clubs I've visited in many states the Church is still a bargain and a delight!
