If only the energy had been higher it might have been worth it
I finally found myself back in Canada after 3+ years and figured I would hit up my favorite club. I was disappointed to say the least. Long story short, I lasted 1 beer and 1 private dance before deciding to try my luck elsewhere. All in, maybe 45 minutes. It’s not that the club couldn’t be good, and maybe it is on other nights, but this night was dead.
The club itself is in an industrial kind of area, so there isn’t much other commercial stuff going on around it. That being said, it’s not sketchy. But, I had a car and probably would have felt differently if I had tried to use cabs or some other way to get there. Parking is free in the lot. Inside, the club is basically one large room with private dances taking place on the sides which are slightly raised. You can’t easily see into the private dance area from the main seating, but once there unless you have a chair fort you’re more or less out in the open. The customers are a range of people, but no one was misbehaving or otherwise acting in a way that felt uncomfortable. At no time did I feel uncomfortable, and I would expect almost anyone to feel the same. Lighting, DJ, music — its all what you would come to expect from a slightly divey strip club. The room is pretty large with a stage in front, bar in back tables in the center and chairs lining the walls. I took a table towards the back by the bar.
There were lots of dancer, too many to count. They came in a range of shapes and sizes. Depending on taste, you’re looking at 6s-7s for the most part. Mostly white, some black, maybe some other ethnicities as well. Everyone speaks English. But, the dancers were almost all sitting at the edges of the main room looking at their phones. A few were sitting with their, presumed, regulars and a few were circulating.
