My Encore Visit

Setting: Monreal's Encore (since 1960) is a small building situated just off of the I-94 entrance ramp at Hawley and across the street from a cemetery. There is usually enough parking alongside the building except on a busier night.

The entry involved $5 cover and an ID scan. I ordered a champagne for $10. As you enter, there is the main bar. Further back is the dancing room which has a single U-shaped stage with 2 poles, plus some tables and chairs to sit at. Rest rooms are to the right of the hallway and are maintained well. There is a lap dance area in the back which has a leather sofa to sit on and is mostly but not totally curtained off so it’s mostly private.

The lighting level is not too dark and the music is not too loud, both of which I like. Music seemed like obscure grunge rock but again not played loudly.
