sinclair's Review
I went to Hotel Royal on a Friday night at 19:15. The strip club opens at 19:00. The building is right on the main street running through downtown Whitby. The strip club occupies the first floor. The second and third floor have rooms that can be rented out, which might be a good option for traveling dancers. There is a parking lot behind the building. Otherwise, parking is along the street and metered. You can enter through the front door on Brock Street or through the back door from the parking lot. There was no cover charge when I arrived.
As you enter from the street, there are four private dance booths along the left wall. Further down the left side is a large main stage with two poles. There are four private dance booths and a DJ booth on the front part of the right wall. High top tables run the rest of the way down the right side. The bar is on the back wall. Domestic bottles were $8.25. Import bottles were $8.75. A soda was $4.50. There were about twenty bottles of alcohol on a shelf behind the bar. One bottle was Jagermeister, so I asked for a Jager Bomb. The blonde bartender said they don't carry Red Bull, so she can't make a Jager Bomb. I didn't think there were too many folks who drank Deer Blood neat. The bar is not what you would describe as "fully stocked". In a cove in the back left of the club were three pool tables. There are signs on the walls saying cell phones cannot be used inside the club. I'm not sure how strictly that rule was enforced.
Dancers would go on stage for three songs, getting nude on the third song. No one tipped the stage. The private dances are the feature entertainment here. Private dances are $20 per song. Dancers get fully nude, although they will usually delay until the third song before they peel their thong off. Dancers put a cloth or handkerchief on your lap to keep a degree of separation from their vajayjay and your pants. There was a sign on the wall that said customers couldn't touch the dancers, but I was told that rule was obsolete. From what I experienced, customers could touch the dancers everywhere except their vaginas. The booths on the left side of the room had ceiling mirrors to prevent extras. The booths on the right side of the room were in the sightline of the DJ booth.
