Still thriving!
I had not been to the DTC in several years--at least not in the evening. I have stopped by a couple afternoons in the last year or two and it was so dead, I thoguht about giving up on this place. Downtown Minneapolis is very quiet since the pandemic. So, I was pleasntly surprosed to see as much action as I did this evening.
First, the place is beutiful. They've update the lighting and laser affects sine I was there last. Adds some reall energy to the space. The buildin itself is awesome with a tall domed main room and old cassic style architecture. the stage is a nice size with one pole. Security outside was freindly. They did frisk me on the way in which is both alarming and comfortingting at the same time. The staff inside were all very freindly. The clientelle was almost all middle age white guys. Some on their onw, a couple other small groups and a group of about 5 guys in the center of the room. Music quality is good. It's a loud club atmosphere--but what do you expect on a Saturday night.
All the girls and staff were very freindly. A server checked on me every 10 minutes or so, but not in an intrustive style. Two differnt dancers came and chatted with me at differnt times. they were both very freindly and conversational--not pushy. I was only there for an hour or so and was not planning to get a dance unless someone really got me excited. Bother girls were solid 7's and there were plently of 8's and 9's and maybe a couple 10's in the room. The girl to guy ratio was pretty awesome. Probably a girls for every 2 guys in the room. (Good for the guys--not so good for the girls.) Wide range of types and styles--I think jsut about everybody would find someone that floats you're boat here unless you like them a lot bigger or super gothy.
