Meeting just one great girl can make a visit to just about any club worthwhile

The San Antonio clubs do not appear to be getting many updated reviews, so I am going to contribute reviews on Sugars, Palace and Scarlett's from a recent visit.

I arrived at Palace shortly before 7pm and the place was very quiet. 30+ years ago when this club was built, someone invested in building a beautiful club. Over the years, Palace has been badly worn and nothing appears to have been updated. It is still a reasonably nice club, but it is too bad that ownership is not keeping the place up given that they want to be a gentleman's club. The club itself has a fairly simple open floor layout. The main bar is to the left as you enter and they have some incredibly uncomfortable bar stools. There are plenty of round tables with comfortable chairs facing the large main stage, a raised platform area that is considered their VIP area (lol!), and an upstairs VIP as well. Dances are done along a wall in the far corner of the club. Not much privacy, but they just offer good dances. Dances are $20 and there was no push to go to the VIP. Please note, the ATM fee is $20 and the max withdraw is $200, so come with cash or pay that outrageous ATM fee.

To me, San Antonio is a very friendly Texas city, but the staff at Palace is not friendly! I am referring primarily to the bartenders, waitresses and floor guys. I sat at a table near the stage and had to waive down a waitress to order a beer and food. The beer was cold and the food was good, but customer service was really lacking. Comparatively, the staff at Scarlett's was very friendly and the floor guys were friendly and engaging. I was one of the few customers in the club and was not greeted by any of the floors even when passing me by.
