Saturday night adventure
Finally!!! Between budget constraints and the pandemic it had been a loooooong time since I’d been able to get out to a club. Had to spend Saturday night in Eugene to break up a long drive so tonight was the night. After checking in and a quick shower I decided to try Silver Dollar. Rolled up at midnight figuring if I didn’t like it, I would have enough time to head over to Sweet Illusions since I’d had a good time there the last time I was in town.
Could tell before I even walked in that this was going to be a dive bar that could be right up my alley as I prefer them to higher end clubs. Upon entry the doorman informed me of the $5 cover and that he needed to see my ID. Friendly guy who joked around while he gave me my change and then had me do something that was definitely new to me, “lift your shirt above your waist and spin around”. Ok……whatever, checking for weapons I suppose but wasn’t fazed. Asked him if he puts a dollar in my underwear now and got a good laugh.
Entered the club area and walked past the curtained private dance area to the bar. Good selection of macro and micro beers. Ordered a Widmer from a milfy bartender with MASSIVE cleavage and paid $7.50. Checked the place out, DJ booth at the left, main stage in the middle of the room with 2 side stages in the back corners (one of which has a big circular swing). There’s a shower behind the side stage on the right but never saw it used. There’s a few booths on the perimeter and smaller tables between them and the main stage.
Video poker and lotto terminals located on the walls. Probably hasn’t been upgraded in decades.
Grabbed the only available table and sat down. Busy night with a ration somewhere around 65% men and 35% women customers. One couple sitting at the main stage kept making out. Seemed like a fun party atmosphere. All 3 stages were being used and the dancers did 2 song sets, most getting fully nude during the second song. I figure there were about 17 or 18 dancers working. Primarily Caucasian with 3 AA but no Asian. I’d rate most of them in the 5 to 7 range with many having the heavily pierced and tatted look that Oregon is famous for (which is an initial turn off for me personally). This is definitely a low hustle bar but the dancers weren’t just sitting around on their phones looking bored. Over the course of a couple hours I had 3 dancers approach and ask if I’d like some company. I always prefer this method as it’s friendlier, and chatting for a while is much more likely to get me to open the wallet. While the first 2 were friendly, I just wasn’t interested in dances with them. When I said “no but thank you for asking” neither one of them stalked off without a word which is a big plus in my view.
