sinclair's Review

I went to The Playmate at noon on a Friday. There was no cover charge during the day. There is a small, tight parking lot on the west side of the building. I opted to park on a side street since the lot was almost completely full, and I didn’t want to get dinged. The entrance to The Playmate is on the east side of the building off of Emond Street. Upon entering, you walk down a flight of stairs. The strip club is in the basement of the building. The first floor of the building has a cannabis store and a cell phone store. The second floor of the building has an adult toy store, adult cinema, peep show, and massage parlor.

There is an island stage in the middle of the room with a pole off to one side that is about seven feet tall. There is a tiny bar in the corner with maybe four stools. A twelve ounce bottle of Sincweiser was $8.50. A sixteen ounce can of Sincweiser was $9.50. The tallboy was a slightly better deal. There is a pool table in another corner of the room. The bartender, waitress, and DJ all spoke with a little bit of a French accent to their English; I think the club is managed by a middle-aged French Canadian couple or family. There was no food served inside the club, but there is a food truck in the parking lot at night.

The private dance area has seven or eight booths with short walls dividing them. Each booth has a big chair facing towards the inside of the booth. There is a fair amount of privacy, but any other dancers or customers coming in or out of the private dance area will be able to see into your booth. Supposedly this club is extras friendly, but I saw no evidence of it on my visit. The most risque thing I saw was a fat regular making out with one of the dancers. Private dances are $20 per song. Dancers get completely nude. They put a handkerchief on your lap to add a degree of separation when they remove their bottoms. You can touch the dancers everywhere. I assume feeling up the bitch wrinkle is forbidden, but I didn’t push the envelope to find out. Mileage was similar to the other strip clubs in town.
