Is Follies back? (A two VIP visit)

Stopped by this past Friday at about 5 PM. Both the smallish main lot and the grass overflow lot in the qback we’re mostly full, but there was a car pulling out near the front door and I found a convenient spot. Got the cursory pat down from security and paid the ex-Follies door girl for the $10 cover. There was a sign posted by the door saying it was their two year anniversary party. I had no idea, but I guess that explained the full parking lot.

Despite the full lot, the upstairs area were still closed. However, it was a full house in the downstairs area (stair treads have been fixed and stair lighting repaired, so you’re not afraid of falling down the stairs and breaking your neck anymore).

Downstairs it was almost like the old Follies, but just almost. It was not shoulder shoulder, but it was definitely crowded. There must’ve been at least 50 dancers and a similar number of customers, Probably 50% Cuban, 25% Black, 25% white/other. Quality distribution: about 40% I wouldn’t consider, 40% in the acceptable range, and 20% as good as you would see it at any top-tier club.
