Club Vogue: not so in vogue

I was in town for work over a Monday night in November, and I had high hopes for my visit to Club Vogue. I cut my teeth on a strip club in a similarly-sized campus town many years ago, and I knew it could be done well. Unfortunately, I encountered several problems that prevent me from referring my esteemed colleagues here.

CLUB APPEARANCE

The club is centered on a room that's roughly square-shaped, with a side length of around 80 feet. There is a spotlight stage with a single pole near the entrance, a main stage that runs nearly the full length along the back wall, and a "bar" along the left side of the room (can it truly be called a bar if they only serve soft drinks and water?). Under the dim lights, everything looks pretty good at first, but the longer you linger, the more run-down things appear around the edges. Having never visited before, I would guess that not much has been done to the place in the last 20 years. The bed dance stalls (up a flight of stairs and overlooking the main floor) in particular felt rather drab, bordering on sketchy. Overall, the appearance of Club Vogue ranks just above the line of what I would consider acceptable.
