Visiting an Old Hangout
I hadn't been to VIP Showgirls which is the name I always knew it as in years. The last few times, I found the club very impersonal with a bad, too-high stage and usually the only available seats were either too far from the stage or too close. Too close doesn't sound like a bad thing but the stage is elevated so if you're sitting near it, you're looking up at a bad angle.
The impersonal part of it came from it being a big, big room which even when there were a lot of people there felt cold and empty. Also, there were bouncers who glared at you like the dancers were their daughters and they were just itching to beat the crap out of you if you put your hands in the wrong place. It was also way too loud to have a decent conversation with the ladies. Now, some of you might say you don't go to strip clubs to talk but I like to get a little sense of what the lady is promising before I commit to a dance.
I never liked the club that much but I liked a certain dancer there. When she stopped working there, I stopped going there. But the other night, I was nearby and I didn't feel like going home so I gave it a try again. It still has the best parking of any strip club I've ever been to, at least in the evening. They share the lot with other businesses and at least in the evenings, which is the only time I've been there, there are plenty of spaces.
