Not Exactly My Style, but Spent the Money Anyway
Friday night at Fantasy Girls, I went in shortly after arrival in Reno, about 5:30. No cover. No pat down. Staying at the Ramada, about 300 feet from the club. (There is a break in the fence between FG and Ramada by the dumpsters that lets you shorten your walk, compared to walking around the block.) The Ramada isn’t bad. A little dated and the WiFi sucks, but at least the restaurant also sucks, so they are consistent. Looks like the associated little casino is where the local dregs like to hang out. The hotel served its purpose this evening. Location, location, location. (FYI Uber to the airport was $14.)
Went back to the hotel to make a private phone call and started my evening in earnest by going over to Spice House, because they used to serve food. They are open from 7:00 pm on, Thursdays through Saturdays. One person in the club, male, said that they don’t serve food anymore (despite their Facebook page showing a menu). Said they are just getting started for the night. Yeah, that would be my guess. No girls and no mongers. Free parking.
There used to be a food truck in the Fantasy Girls parking lot. That was absent too, so I walked about ½ mile down the street to Senor Tequila’s Méxican Kitchen & Cantina. Some of the best Mexican food that can be had in the USA. Not a plate of beans, rice, and something microwaved so much that you cannot touch the plate, but real Mexican recipes and eats. Live band too. Price was fair. Service was a little slow, which added to the authenticity. Wish I had discovered it sooner. It will now be a regular stop.
