Closed!

I don't know if there is an easier way to report this venue as closed, so I decided to do it in a review. Me and a friend had gone there a while back so we decided to check it out again for my birthday. We went after midnight on a Saturday, November 12, 2022 to be precise. When we saw the parking lot empty, we know something was up. Maybe they just closed early, I thought. Then I went to look at the door and saw an official notice placed on the door that they are closed, and a warning of fines if they try to reopen.

So I don't know why they are closed but it looks official, don't know if they will ever reopen. The last time I went they had stopped having dancers and it was just a regular bar with pool tables. Still had a stripper pole in the corner but not in use. I had heard that they stopped giving lap dances because a shooting at J's bar across the street led to police discovering dancers doing more than the law allows when they looked at the cameras. Because of that lap dances were banned in Melrose Park but not the adjacent town of Stone Park. J's bar closed completely and they stopped dances at both Bobby's and Louie's Lounge which is closer to the Stone Park strip clubs but still considered part of Melrose Park.

Louie's Lounge started giving dances again but then closed, don't know why. We drove over there and there is a new bar open there under a different name, still no dances. There is also another business open now where J's was, but it was a private party in the restaurant area so couldn't we go in. The J's sign is still on the bar section, so maybe they reopened. All I know for sure is that Bobby's is closed.
