Halloween night

I’ve reviewed Black Betty’s once or twice before because it’s one of the few places I go to semi-regularly.

As far as location… It sits right on Route 35 in Sayreville. There’s a big Exxon station that’s about 1 block’s distance before Betty’s. I offer it as a landmark because Betty’s is a bit dark and easy to miss.

Inside, the place has seating that wraps around a stage with two poles. The place is physically a bit weathered and could use a little TLC, but I think that gives it some of its charm. The atmosphere is actually more like an old local tavern. There are definitely lots of regulars here. You can tell from how the bartenders and dancers interact with them. It has a biker bar feel to it, complete with the biker dudes I’ve seen from time to time. But it’s a very laid back place and quite welcoming.
