I went to Sensations Showgirls at midnight on a Saturday. Parking is around three sides of the building, and I found the only unoccupied spot in the whole parking lot. Sensations Showgirls had a full house. The entrance is at the rear of the building. There was a $10 cover charge at the door. You get metal detected with a wand, and the club scans your ID. I quickly figured out Sensations is more of an urban crowd compared to Parkway Tropics; the clientele was at least half African-American, and the rest of the crowd was either Hispanic or Caucasian. The music was one hundred percent hip hop.

There is an island stage in the middle of the room with two twenty-foot tall poles. The stage is about four feet off the ground, which makes stage tipping awkward. A long bar extends the entire length of the wall opposite the entrance. Sincweisers were $5 in bottles. There is a smoking patio accessed through a door at the left end of the stage. I got yelled at by some woman who works at Sensations because I took my beer out onto the patio, which is apparently not allowed for some reason. You are also not supposed to take your drink with you into the washroom, which is near the entrance.

There were over thirty dancers working the night I visited. Around seventy percent of the dancers were African-American. Twenty percent of the dancers were Hispanic or mixed. The final ten percent were PAWG’s. Stage contact was lame because the stage is too high off the ground. Even though this is a bikini club, a few dancers will break the rules and briefly flash their tits on stage. Most customers that tipped made it rain or drizzle. Private dances take place on the west wall of the club. Private dances are $20 per song. You can touch the dancers all over, but they have to keep their bikinis on. I told a few of the dancers I was staying in a hotel nearby, and it seemed like a few were down for a sweaty workout on a California king bed.
