Not as bad as I feared

I visited Exotic Kitty’s in Bakersfield California on Tuesday October 11, 2022 from about 9:15 to 10:30 pm. They currently open at 7pm. The club is not far off of Hwy 99 in an area that is mostly industrial with a few government buildings and schools mixed in. The area around the club is completely deserted at night. The club is a fairly fancy looking stand alone building in the middle of extensive free parking. Entering I paid a cover of $20. No security stuff. The main room is a 2 story high open space with a mezzanine around 3 sides. Entering the juice bar is to the right. A large semicircular stage with 3 poles juts out from the rightmost wall with about 15 chairs at the tip rail surrounding it. There are numerous 2 or 3 seat tables back from the stage and a number of small couches back against the walls. The place had a lot of rather tacky looking Halloween decorations all over. A dancer said that these were put up around the beginning of September. There were several TV screens around the room showing the baseball postseason. A couple of waitresses were serving. I had bottled water in a fancy bottle for $5.

Initially there were about 10 customers, looking like mostly older guys. Soon before I left at group of about a dozen younger Latinx looking customers, evenly divided between male and female, came in and sat in most of the tip row seats and began enriching the dancer on stage. Not exactly making it rain but substantial contributions never the less.

At one point the DJ called the dancers up on stage for a roll call. I counted 8 but I think there were a couple of more around. Mostly upper 20’s it seemed like, no real young ones. Variety of ethnicities and body types including a number who were decidedly overweight. One dancer on stage at a time. They did 3 song sets on stage, getting nude in the second of third song. Not a lot of pole work although the poles were high.
