Vivide Fall Update
I’ve been visiting this club at least once and sometimes twice a month. I’m typically here mostly on Mondays and Tuesdays anywhere between 1:00-5:00 PM. I sometimes make it out on a Saturday as well. Vivide is a medium-size club in an industrial part of far West Midtown (or more specifically Blandtown neighborhood) that is very slowly going through gentrification. Only time will tell if that gentrification will negatively affect the club like it did so many other ones in the Atlanta metro area as of late. The club opens at noon Monday through Saturday. There is a $10 cover charge and free parking during the daytime. I’ve noticed that they have put up a fence on the right side of the parking lot as well as signs stating extra crew parking behind the picket fence. Deon, the friendly black security guard that mans the entrance on most days, will give you a pat down before entering. There is now a door girl that collects the cover charge in addition to a tip jar.
There are two levels to this club but all of the action is downstairs on the lower level. You will enter at the top level and have to walk a long, steep descent of stairs to the bottom. There is a “horseshoe” shaped bar that will fit approximately 8 to 10 high chairs. The rest of the seating are open booths of couches and small cocktail tables in “L” or “U” shaped arrangements. There were two small stages but both poles have been removed from them for the time being. The pole in the center in front of the bar with the individual chairs has also been removed. Additionally, there are three large projection-style TV’s on the side where the bar is at and on the back wall but the back wall TV’s are usually kept off which helps reduce the brightness. I wish they would turn off the other TV’s and just leave the TV on at the bar only.
There are a couple of VIP rooms on the upper level on the dancer’s dressing room side in addition to the 4 VIP rooms on the lower level. Two of them are across the dancer’s dressing room and the other two are on the other side near the restrooms. VIP prices are $60 for the room and $150-$200 for the dancer. The DJ gets a $10 cut of the VIP room fee. But lately I have not done a VIP in quite a few months since I’ve been getting some great floor dances from certain girls that I’ve known for a while. The Cuban dancers use them a lot though. I’ve seen some be in and out in less than 10 minutes with more than one customer during the day. There is a restroom troll stocked with your typical items and he is generally chill and quiet. Since my last review, they have finally fixed the urinal in the Men’s restroom after many months of it being out of order.
