A Search for a New Discovery on Columbus Day

I decided to give the Diamond Club a try on a Monday afternoon in October. Post-pandemic my club outings have usually been to Vivide, but I’ve been wanting to switch it up since my last visits in June and July. I arrived around 4:30PM. I found a parking spot along the fence which separates the club from the gas station next door. Parking is free until 7PM. Upon entry I received a light pat down and paid the $10 entry fee.

There is a curtain which separates the entry area from the main floor. As you enter the main area, there is a small hallway to you right which leads to the restrooms. There is a bar just past the hallway on the right. There is another bar in the upper right corner of the club near the DJ booth. Booth seating is available along both walls. There is a long rectangular stage near the middle of the club and a smaller stage near the rear of the club. High top tables and low top tables are also seating options.

I would estimate that there were maybe 15 to 20 dancers available. The dancers were all Black or Latina, with Latinas seeming to be the majority. The customers were mostly Black or Latino as well. Most of the Black dancers appeared to be in their 20s, with a few of the Latinas being slightly older. The music was mostly older rap music. The songs seemed to played for the full length. There seems to be a setup for a restroom attendant, but I didn’t see anyone in there during my visit.
