Eye candy but that's all

visited Deja Vu San Diego on Thursday September 8, 2022 from about 8:30 to 9:45 pm. The club is not far from Old Town, the Sports Arena, and various Navy and Marines installations. It is a standalone building in an ample parking lot. It is a nude, no alcohol club but there is a bar on the other side of the parking lot. Entering the charge was $25 which included a $5 fountain drink. The entrance fee also included a free entrance anytime in the following week. No security stuff. They must have military discounts since they asked if I was military. Entering the main room the bar was in the far left corner. There were a bartender and 2 waitresses , all girls in short “French maid” outfits. They were not annoying coming around selling drinks. At one point they came around offering free popcorn. There is a vending machine with snacks.

The horseshoe shaped stage is opposite the entrance. It has one main pole toward its front and two other poles farther back joined near their tops by an horizontal bar. Dancers only used the front pole while I was there which was high enough for decent pole work. There are about 15 seats at the tip rail around the stage. There was a small gap between the tip rail and the stage itself. Farther back from the stage are numerous round tables with two or three chairs each. Overall this is a pretty large space. Raised up along the left wall and the wall opposite to the stage are rows of red plush cubicles. I believe these are where the per song lap dances are done, open to the main part of the club but with somewhat dark lighting. The DJ booth was also elevated in the corner to the left of the stage. There was a computer display behind the DJ’s position showing the lineup of which dancers were next, although one would need very good eyesight to read it since it was pretty small. The DJ was the usual loud type, who sometimes walked around the room with a wireless mic.

There were perhaps 8 or so dancers when I got there increasing to at least 15 or more by the time I left. They tended toward the tall slender type with moderate sized breasts . Mostly mid 20’s it looked like. Mostly white or hispanic, one oriental (named Tokyo), and no AA. They did two song sets, all got nude by the second song. They had one dancer doing an audition, a very energetic dancer but I doubt she would get hired since she wasn’t the general type of the other dancers, shorter and slightly fat. About an equal number of customers as dancers, increasing as time went on. One male and female pair at a table. When I was about to leave a group of 4 or 5 single women came in, got dollars at the bar, and sat at the tip row and began tipping the dancer on stage.
