I recently received a recommendation to check out Déjà vu Lake City. I’ve been to many a Vu before, but honestly once I found places like Sands, Pandora’s, Centerfolds, and way way back: Ricks, I just didn’t see the point. In the old days, the Vu was a bad bet in the extras department, so I quit going. Like “keep your hands at your sides” level lame. There are several in the Seattle area, today I visited one that I’d never been to before, not even in ancient history.

The parking lot would probably fit a hundred cars, and today at 5pm it was totally empty except for 2 other cars, plus a Vu branded party bus. The building is located off Bothell Way, another of Seattle’s old highways that are now home to car dealerships, fast food joints, and strip clubs. The doorman was outside and stopped his phone call to hold the door for me. Inside there was a cash register at a glass topped counter with various strippery looking outfits, novelty baseball hats, etc. for sale. The place reeks of bachelor party. I paid $22 for entrance and allegedly, a non-alcoholic drink. There was one PL, no bartender, and 3 dancers, all Caucasian and tall / large, but not BBW. Kind of my cup of tea, really. The space is really nice when compared to the indie clubs in town… glass on all the walls, nice well-built square stage centered against a wall, seating for a couple hundred, well-made chairs and tables, 2 bars, decent sound system, really everything you’d need for a solid strip club except for: PL’s, Dancers, and Alcohol. Adding to the spooky and underutilized “Passengers” vibe (sans J-Law/Chris Pratt), there was a robot DJ announcing dances that didn’t happen and “stage maintenance” that also didn’t happen. The room was dark as fuck, and I bumped into some chairs on my way to the chairs by the stage. There was a separate LDA, and a VIP “lounge” whatever that is. I don’t know if there are VIP rooms. Neither made any sense in a super dark empty club at 0.05% capacity.
