God, I miss Follies

My first visit to Atlanta since Covid and more importantly, since Follies closed. With the few Florida & NC clubs that had offered $10 high mileage dances either closed or prices raised, I was very much looking forward to this visit. While it wasn't horrible, it was not a Follies experience.

Ok, others have described the layout. So won't really repeat. A couple things though. Stairs are around to the left to go down stairs. Bathroom is nasty, in the back corner to the right when you come down stairs just past the DJ, at least I think it was the DJ. A guy sitting at a small table with a laptop. VIP area is behind him.

I visited on a rainy Wednesday, arriving about 2:30pm. Not a ton of customers, maybe a dozen. While it is nice to have more dancers than customers, with it being that slow. I felt like a bleeding seal surrounded by sharks.

Others have said they were happy that with the TVs on, it was better than the very dark atmosphere before, but I thought it was too bright. With the wide open couches, it felt like you could not get the hands on experience you could get at Follies.

Also, the vibe was not the festive atmosphere from days gone by. Funny, I used to think Follies was way too crowded, but now I found myself missing the buzz that came with it.
