Pre-Pandemic was Great, Post-Pandemic is Meh
I came into the the Silver Dollar on a Friday night. There were plenty of girls, mostly white, but not as many as I remember pre-pandemic. According to the bartender, many girls were on Summer break for school and thus, less girls. Anyways, it was a rather clean, but not over-the-top clean type of club. There’s a section in the back outside for smokers. A small section with some slots and an ATM. A big projector and lots of lights and music. There was more than 1 stage, but only 1 stage was used for the night. The dance room was nothing special, just a rectangular room filled with couches. Overall, a decent atmosphere and relatively clean club inside.
The dancers were not too bad. For a Friday night, I’d say there was a rotation of about 10 or so different girls. Mostly white and early-to-mid 20’s. Each had their own personality in the club, with some just chilling at the bar most the time and others trying to rigorously hustle each table. The bartender was very nice as well and made some strong drinks. And the cook is awesome! Very nice person and made me some awesome chicken tenders. I’d say the people/staff are quite friendly and not too bad to vibe with. While some of the girls hustled hard, the more docile ones where the best to go and ask a dance from since they seemed pleasantly surprised they were being asked!
Now for the prices. Okay, let me give you some context: the last time I was in the SD was pre-pandemic. It’s been a few years, and back then, I could get a dance for $20/song. Now, I understand inflation has hit hard, but as of now, SD charges $25 fee to the front, and then $25/dance. $50 total per dance. That is more than DOUBLE what it used to be. The Silver Dollar is NOT a Vegas strip club. Not an LA strip club. Nor a NY strip club. It is located in a city with one of the highest homeless populations around, off a somewhat sketchy road, in a VERY hippy town. $50/dance is too much, especially for the town it’s in. The cover was $5.00, but at the dance prices, it should be free. This is the main reason I will NOT be recommending the Silver Dollar. It used to be my go-to SC, but not anymore. Drinks are pretty on-par with other clubs though. I paid $7 a cider and $5 for a Rockstar. I believe the shots were like $8-9 for some well alcohol.
