As part of a several day visit to San Francisco I went to Centerfolds on Thursday evening July 28, 2022 from about 8:45 to 10:15 pm. The club opens at 6pm. None of the San Francisco clubs currently has a day shift. The club is on Broadway at the corner of Montgomery St. Looking down the hill on Montgomery you have a direct view of the famous pyramid shaped Transamerica building. No parking at the club, there are very small pay parking lots nearby on Broadway. I was staying at a hotel a few blocks away and walked over. At the entrance I was asked to show ID, wanded and charged a cover of $25. The club is not large. Entering through a beaded curtain one finds oneself at the right side of the main stage. It’s a small square stage with a single pole and only about 10 seats at the tip rail. Back from the stage are a row of small tables and chairs and behind that some bench seating. Behind all this and raised up 4 or so steps is more seating. There are two smaller stages with a pole each at this level, not used while I was there. Up some more steps and directly back from the stage is the rather small bar. Up on still another level is another one pole stage and seating, this area was closed off while I was there.

The decor looks fairly new. There are not as much flashing lights as in many clubs, although the lighting of the stage was good so you could see what was happening. There were about 11 or 12 dancers, which one dancer I talked with said was less than usual for a Thursday night. About the same number of customers initially but the number rapidly increased as 10 o’clock approached. The dancers entered the stage through a bead curtain on the back wall of the stage. The music was loud but not such that it was hard to talk. The music was mostly rap although not the most egregious kind of the genre. The DJ was constantly exhorting customers to tip at the stage, with some effect as the night wore on. More annoying the DJ frequently told the audience that cell phone use was not allowed. The pole was high enough to allow some decent pole work. The dancers were mostly in their 20’s with an ethnic mix although I didn’t see any orientals or dark skinned AA. Body shapes varied but no overly fat dancers. Dancers were good about circulating and interacting with customers, often sitting on customers’ lap to make their pitch for dances.

The main secret of this place is the following. It is a club serving alcohol, although with more of an emphasis on wine and beer. Despite this it is somehow also a nude club. The dancers on stage all got nude in the last song of their 3 song sets. Nude options were available for the lap dances. The single song lap dance prices were $25 bikini, $50 topless and $60 nude. There were frequent 2 for 1 deals announced, although with various time limits, like you got to take advantage of it in the next 60 seconds or something. I took an another option of 3 nude songs for $150, which the dancer I was with extended to 4 for $150. There were also more expensive half hour and hour times in what was described in a fancy room in the basement. I caught a glimpse of the single song area and that seemed to be the usual rows of 3 sided booths. I went with a dancer who was a light skinned AA or mix, slim with medium sized breasts. The $150 was paid in advance. The dance was in a closed room on the second level with a wide bed where the customer can lay flat rather than the usual bench. There was also a mirror in the ceiling. The dancer had me remove my belt so that the buckle wouldn’t rub her. I have to say that her dance was some of the best grinding I can remember. It wasn’t a lot else otherwise, little hand contact by the dancer for instance although mutual touching was allowed. I gave a modest tip.
