Quick But Enjoyable Visit
PREFACE: On a road trip from the East Coast to Chicago and back, I managed to make a two-day stop in Detroit – my third in the last 10 months – to visit a few clubs. On Monday I made enjoyable afternoon stops at Henry the VIII and Bogart’s, and a surprisingly good evening stop at Silver Criket (so good I’ll be going back tonight for a repeat). Tuesday morning, I had a great OTC session at my hotel with a girl I met at Bogart’s last September and again in June. Tuesday afternoon I stopped at Subi’s (where very little was going on, and the only two cute girls were too skinny even for me and had almost no boobs), then to the Landing Strip. I doubt I’ll bother to submit reviews of the other clubs (I did from my last trip), but I’ve only been to Landing Strip once, quite a few years ago and didn’t get dances, so I though it was time for me to submit a write-up.
REVIEW: I arrived at 4:00 pm and stayed until 4:45. I hate the mandatory $7 valet, especially when there is free parking available on the street less than a block away. I parked on the street and walked over. The valet guy said the valet parking was mandatory, or no admittance – no exceptions. I asked what if I had Ubered, and he said I’d have to show him the receipt on my phone. (Not sure if Uber riders have to pay anything.) So I went back, got my car, and let him park it. He was not an asshole, but he was 100% adamant. Whatever.
Walked upstairs to no cover (it’s $20 at night), no ID check, no security protocol that I noticed, and was asked where I wanted to sit. I am not sure if the booths carry a fee to sit at in the afternoon, but I prefer sitting at the bar, like I did last time. One advantage of that is that when the girls are done dancing on stage, they exit the stage right at the bar, so getting their attention is simple. Bottled water was $7.75 plus tip.
