Not the same as pre-COVID but still pretty good
I've been stopping by G2000 from time to time to see how things are shaping up post-COVID. Pre-COVID, this was a hopping bar with lots of girls and customers, standing room only even on weeknights. That's no longer the case but they seem to be on the mend and hopefully things will continue to pick up.
On this visit, I went on a Thursday around 8 pm. There was no bouncer or coat check girl in the foyer and I walked right in. I think they $10 charge cover after 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and maybe bag check too. Recently I came on a Friday a couple of minutes too late and the coat check girl was ruthless about taking my cover (showed me her phone that said 7:02 and said "$10"). A few months ago they tried to charge a $10 bag check at all hours but wisely gave that up after I'm sure customers walked away (including me).
Once inside the bar, the bouncer stationed near the door sort of nodded at me and I went to sit at the bar. There is a large rectangular bar with the dancer stage in the middle, so that the bartender is between you and the stage. After the set, the dancer makes her rounds around the bar and collects your $1 tip. Pre-COVID, those who didn't want to participate in the tip parade would stand back, behind the bar seats. You could get away with it without looking cheap since the place was usually crowded and no seats at the bar. Now if you're standing back it's obvious you are being cheap. There are between 1-3 girls on the stage at a time so sitting at the bar for an hour will set you back maybe $15-20. If you can't afford that, you shouldn't be here. A Bud Light was $10.
