Friday Orange County Recon - part 2

On Friday July 15, 2022 I drove the 70 miles from my home for first time visits to 3 clubs in Orange County. I am writing reviews of each of these. The second one was California Girls Anaheim which I visited from about 5 to 6 pm. They open at 4 pm. The club is on Brookhurst St in an area with retail businesses on the street and mostly apartment houses on the side streets. There are a lot of restaurants with Middle Eastern cuisines on the street and a place across the street advertising “ Islamic clothing”. I suppose this must say something about the ethnic mix of this area. There is a lot behind the club with a reasonable amount of parking. Entrance on the street side. I was asked to show my ID and a quick pat-down was done. Cover was $10 and I entered through a turnstile. The restrooms are in an alcove near the entrance. The men’s was clean. There was no attendant but there was a high chair in the room that looked like one that might be used by an attendant, California Girls is part of the Spearmint Rhino empire.

To get to the main part of the club one proceeds left around the bar. This is a full alcohol club. There were a number of screens showing sports above the bar. The main room has a semicircular stage projecting from one long side opposite the bar. A tip rail and chairs surrounds the curve of the stage. The lap dance areas are on the short wall to the right of the stage. Most of the rest of the space is filled with small tables with chairs. There are too many tables for the available space and it’s very tight walking between them. Around the edges of the room are booths set up for bottle service. The room is nicely appointed. The various LED lights are top notch. The ceiling above the stage is indented so the pole is high. No one used them but at the top of the pole were more advanced acrobatic stuff like rings and trapeze .

There were about 12 dancers and probably 10 to 15 customers. At this time of day the vibe of the club was very much customers sitting with dancers at the bar and drinking. The bar was almost full. No one approached me on the floor to buy a drink so I didn’t. They did manage to keep a stage show going most of the time. The dancers seemed to be mostly in their 20’s and definitely trended to the tall, long-legged, moderately breasted type. They were mostly white or Latina, didn’t notice any AA. They did 2 song sets going topless in the second. There was quite a bit of rather good pole work. Not a lot of tipping at the stage.
