Friday Orange County Recon - part 1
On Friday July 15, 2022 I drove the 70 miles from my home for first time visits to 3 clubs in Orange County. I am writing reviews of each of these. The first was Imperial Showgirls which I visited from about 2:30 to 4:30 pm, they open at 11am. The club is located in a rather new looking industrial park near the intersection of the 5 and 91 freeways, or for old-timers like me the Santa Ana and Riverside freeways. There was sufficient parking around the building but it also appeared an otherwise unused part of the building was being used for indoor parking. Whether this was just for employees or was more generally available for a fee I’m not sure. It’s a 2 story building with two entrances next to each other on the street level. The left entrance is to a bar on the lower level run by the same management as the club and the right entrance is for the club, which having nude dancers is no alcohol. Cover is paid at that entrance and was $15 which seems a bit steep for day shift, followed by a quick pat-down. The rest rooms are also on this lower level at the end of a corridor behind the entrance desk. Men’s room was ample and clean. Imperial is part of the “onege” group which includes clubs like Sahara, Paradise, several Synn’s and others in Southern California.
Proceeding up the stairs to the upper level you first encounter the bar, and the bartender pouncing on you for the required drink, which I had a Voss water in a fancy bottle for $8. Beyond the bar is the main part of the club. My description may be imprecise in details because it was dark and there are so many mirrors on the walls it’s hard to tell what’s an extension of the room and what’s just a reflection. Against the far wall on the long direction of the club is the semicircular stage with one pole. It is surrounded by a row of chairs at the tip rail. Back from and to the sides of the stage are a lot of small tables with 2 or 3 chairs. Directly opposite the main stage on the other long wall is a second stage nearly as big as the first with its own row of chairs at the tip rail, presumably used during busy times.
This was not busy times, I don’t think there were more than 3 or 4 customers the whole time I was there. The decor looks pretty new.
