Vivid - Can be Good; Can be Boring

I’ve been to Vivid several times, and it is very inconsistent in terms of quality of girls and the vibe. I usually arrive sometime between 10:30 - midnight and it is almost always a Thursday or Friday night. There have been times where I have walked in and thought the place was ready to close for the night and other times it is very lively. On the nights when it is quiet in the club, I have seen no benefit to sticking around. It almost seems like the girls are bored and aren’t going to do anything to get you to stick around. On the more crowded nights, the girls are regularly moving through the main area. They generally don’t spend much time before hitting you up for dances and move on if you aren’t interested. The door staff at Vivid is pretty helpful. They help you find a table, and I have had them bring girls over and introduce them.

On purely looks alone, I think girls at Vivid are a little below average for NYC. They have a lot of 6s and 7s and I haven’t seen many real knockouts there. However, they are generally very friendly and talkative if you’re willing to buy some dances. If you buy a couple of lap dances, they usually stick around with you until you ask them to move along or until they think you’re done spending money. There is a good mix of ethnicities among the dancers with probably more latinas than anything else, but you’ll see some white girls, black girls, and Europeans (with most of the white girls seeming to Eastern European). It does seem like the girls here approach you in groups more than most clubs, as it is pretty common for two of them to come over at a time. If you want to spend the money on two of them together (and I have on occasion), you can have some fun, but it is hard to separate them if you only like one of them.

The lap dances are on couches on each side of the main room, so no privacy. You get decent contact but nothing extraordinary, which seems to be pretty standard for NYC. There is always a pretty strong push to go to a VIP room upstairs. The rooms upstairs are about $350-400 for 30 minutes plus you have to buy drinks and the staff upstairs hits you up for a tip. (I think an hour is not quite double the 30-minute price.) You can get decent mileage in the upstairs VIP, but don’t think you’re going all the way or anything. The girls will generally get completely nude and will get pretty handsy.
