2 Girls 1 Bore
West Eugene’s Silver Dollar still has the same old high-wear carpet, single stage, and bored dancers. A sign taped to the door reminds everyone to wear a mask, but it’s obviously the wrong neighborhood and clientele to care. Does make one wonder, why not remove the sign the moment the mandate went away? Laziness on the part of management, an attempt at welcoming those with vulnerable medical conditions? A management that never actually uses the front door? We’ll never know.
Another addition, post-pandemic, is a 25 buck “house fee” to take a dancer out of the dancing rotation. In case that wasn’t clear from the club description up top, you pay $25 to the bartender, and then $25 dollars for a private dance. On the Tuesday afternoon that I came in, a total of five staffers seemed to be on duty. First a bouncer who remained seated my entire visit, stationed on the other side of the lapdance area curtains. One barback/cook occasionally made brief appearances to use the lotto machines. I recognized the slim blonde bartender from my last visit, long ago in the pre-pandemic dark ages. And finally, 2 dancers maintained the long afternoon 2-7 shift, both bored and disgusted.
The bathrooms have a certain dive-bar pride, only clean enough to prevent serious disease. Pipe fittings and drywall gouges remain from an aborted attempt at a remodel, long ago. I like it. A few old men and creeps nursed drinks and conversation.
