Better than Expected.

I wanted to review a place that hasn't been reviewed in a while, provided it was open late afternoon/early evening. Gold Club fit the bill. I went with low expectations. See prior reviews. The place itself is more or less a single room with the bathrooms and bar to the front and a warren of private rooms in the back. In between, there is a square room with low tables and low, rolling chairs. It's done up in cheesy 1980s basement lounge style, lots of dark purple. The furniture is worn. There is a stage -- with pole -- to one side.

I arrived about 5:30 PM. It was dead but ready to get busy. I only saw one other PL when I came in. He was talking with a dancer at the bar. There were 6-7 dancers. Dancers were white, black, and Hispanic, equally divided. Two were slim 20 somethings and gorgeous, one white, one black. Two were slim-ish 30 somethings. The remainder were curvy, stout, whatever you want to call it, but on the under 30 side. I sat at the bar. No one was on stage. I ordered a beer. Beers are $6. Mixed drinks go for $10. A dancer sat down next to me. She was short, in her 20s, and black with curves but not big. I bought her a glass of wine but the conversation was dull. Someone started dancing on the stage. Using that as my excuse, I tipped the dancer and went and sat down in a chair to watch the show. As I sat down, an enormous guy emerged from the private area with a dancer. He sat in the corner with his companion and was immediately flocked with dancers like pigeons descending on a bread crust. They started doing shots. I watched the stage dancer. One of the dancers -- a black, 30-ish, nice body -- broke away from the flock and alighted at my table. Her name was Raven. She was thirsty. $20 for a double G&T. Chatted. She was playful with her hand on my leg, but not giving me the handshake. I went for a dance, mostly to move her along. Before we left, she ordered another G&T (she had barely touched the first one). Private dances $30/4 minutes with no one snooping on you. You pay in advance. VIP is in 15, 20, 30 minute increments at $10 per minute. The VIP is larger room, with curtains. During the private dance, Raven let me know she was expensive. I'm not sure what a great upsell it is to tell a guy it's going to be very costly, but that was her style. I called it at one dance.

I went back to my table to have another beer. At this point, I was flocked by dancers -- 4 or 5 of them -- all of whom wanted me to buy them shots. I handed out dollars liberally but I wasn't buying shoots for 5 dancers. I didn't fall off the pumpkin truck yesterday. Most of the flock took off. I was vibing well with one dancer whom I had a 40 minute VIP session with. It started as a 20 minute and more time got added, which was a hassle. I spent a lot of money stupidly but I do not regret it. Afterwards, I chatted with my companion a bit. I needed to go & she was called up to the stage. I tried to leave three times, but each time I turned around and tipped her on the stage before I finally got myself out of there. Pricey but worthwhile.
