Memorial Day Weekend Pt 1.
I was in St. Louis last weekend for Memorial Day and I decided to stop by Roxxx on Friday night. I arrived around midnight and decided to park in the small parking lot ($20 to park in the lot on this night). Outside of the club, security asks you empty your pockets, pats you down, has you walk thru a metal detector and scans your id before letting you enter. To my surprise I wasn’t charged cover once inside and I proceeded to the small bar near the entrance to order a Dusse (cognac) for $10.
As mentioned in previous reviews, the club itself is relatively small, not a lot of seating options available, but since it was kind of slow when I arrived, I was able to get a seat a one of the few tables near one of the three pole-less stages. There were only a couple of the B-team (out of shape/ unattractive) dancers out on the floor initially but I did notice a steady stream of dancers arriving and heading into the locker room.
It wasn’t until around 1am that most of the dancers came out of the locker room, but most just went to one of the stages and smoked hookah, took pictures/videos of themselves on their phones and chatted amongst themselves. It took a while before I was approached by a pretty in the face thick in the waist dancer that I recognized from previous visits to Club Onyx. We chatted for a while at my table and she told me that Onyx was shut down and a lot of the girls who danced there were now dancing at either Roxxx or the Dawg Pound across the street. After a bit of small talk, she started twerking in front of me at my seat. I tossed some singles and guided her closer and she took the hint and began doing a nice job of grinding while my hands roamed for the next couple of song. There was not a set price quoted so I just continued to tip singles while she danced for me and she seemed appreciative.
